Apartment Review for Windrift - Oceanside, CA

Don't live here unless you have to. Me and my husband were fooled by the down to earth calm feel and look of everything until we moved in. Both of us are military and there was ONE time that we were both away in the field and we missed a payment by 2 days. It felt like we were fugitives... people knocking on our door the second we first came home to collect, notices all over the door, and phone calls to our workplaces. Most of the time it was because they had someone new in the office trying to show that they were good at their job. It was very constant that there was someone new. They never keep associates more than 2 months at a time. The neighbors were always loud and we were very tolerant because we were a young couple, but the second we had the tv too loud, we would get a phone call from the office telling us that they had complaints about the noise. Neighbors don't pick up after their pets at all. It's disgusting. Security was non-existent there. Windrift would be so much better if they had a roaming security guard and/or gated access. Even if they charged a little more to pay for the service, I wouldn't have minded. I had a Jeep Wrangler that got broken into 3 times while I was there. It was pointless to even close the windows or lock the doors. There were many times that other tenants would have people over and the parking was so ridiculous, they would park in my COVERED/RESERVED parking spot. I would call to the office to notify them and all they would say is wait until the morning and if it wasn't moved, they would have it towed. Where was I supposed to park until then? Honestly there was only 3 good things about Windrift. 1) If there was anything wrong w/ the apartment such as flooding or clogged toilets, they would send someone over right away, 2) The staff has a very professional appearance, and 3) the facilities such as the pool, raquetball courts and gym were great. I wouln't recommend living there unless you're an old couple.
