Apartment Review for Villages Of Monterey - Oceanside, CA

Let me just share with everyone my story about The Villages of Monterey. First off this is my first apart and I am only 20 years old. So obviously I am inexperienced with the whole apartment thing and don't really know what to look for just yet. Well the office staff lady (I wont mention any names) obviously knew that. She offered us a concession of 1 months free from our rent which mind you is $1520.00. Of course we were all joyed about that. Now here is the kicker. I am in the military and I specifically asked when we moved in "If I get orders am I going to have to pay any fees or fins to break my lease?" The lady told me "NO." She never mentioned anything about the concession having to be paid back or anything. The other day I went into the leasing office to put in my notice. I found of I was PCSing earlier that day. Because it was not the 1st day of the month the leasing office told me I would have to pay for another month of rent. Fine whatever but on top of that she told me I would have to pay the concession back as well. I find it ridiculous that they can't even wave the concession due to the circumstances. I even refereed one of my friends and his wife to live there! I have learned my mistakes and hope no one else has to deal with this.
