Apartment Review for Villages Of Monterey - Oceanside, CA

I have lived here for 1 yr. It was great at first. Then they started rennovating...EVERYTHING!! First they started with the parking lot, totally repaved it. Becuase of that, they made us move our cars at 700 am and wouldnt let us park in the parking lot for a day. Next it was the fences which created lots of noise. Then it was the mail boxes! We couldnt recieve our mail for like two days and because of that my husband didnt recieve some very important mail. Then there was a leak which caused water to leak into our apartment and our nieghbors. They informed us that they were going to leave the very noisy dehumitifier for 3 days! People were going to be in and out of our apartment all night long! Because we had kids they let us stay in they're executive suite. I felt sorry for my neighbors though. Once in the executive suite, they forgot about us! They never kept us informed on the progress of fixing the leak. They never even called us to tell us it was safe to move back. This problem lasted a week. During this time they were tree trimming! These guys that trimmed the trees were very noisey and inconsiderate leaving piles of branches everywhere. They were also very loud! Then they re-painted the entire complex! Guys were on everyones balconies painting...it was very confining and uncofortable. The management is money hungry and charge us for everything, but of course they dont tell you that. They charge you 10 cents for every hole you make to hang up pictures even if its a tiny hole that can be covered up by paint. The pet rent is ridiculous! $250 for a pet deposit plus an additional $50 a month for pet rent! Do yourself a favor and dont bother renting here!! Its not worth the money!!!
