Apartment Review for Villa Del Mar Apartments - Oceanside, CA

Horrible. These people are horrible. The place is horrible. My husband (military)and I lived here for like a year & 1/2. The ladies in the office (except Wendy) were bitches. The staff can barely speak/understand english. A couple of months after we moved in, I started noticing long black hairs (Im blonde) on my kitchen floor when I swept & also in my bathroom sink. The leasing agent had hair just like it, so i actually think she was snooping inside our place while we were gone. This is my bad, but listen: there were no cats allowed. I snuck in a kitten, had him for a year.. he was so tiny, well behaved, never meowed, no scratching, ect..& then someone "told on me" so they gave me a bill for $400 for an animal deposit. (?!?!?!) After 8 months of on-time payments, I was late 2 days.. I told them I was sorry & Patty (the manager) put me on the spot chewed me out in front of all the girls in the office. Our clothes were stolen from the laundry room 2 weeks after moving in .. & everytime you need something from the office ($ on laundry card, key, help, ect.) they're ALWAYS @ lunch. I lived RIGHT ACROSS THE WAY from the office... literally, and could never get a hold of them. The pictures look real nice, & it was..only on the outside.. VERY trimmed all the time. Yard work and outside maintenance is an A-. They pretty much half ass everything on the inside the apartment. Crappy cabniets that chip, counters that stain & chip, broken sinks, & my toilet paper roll holder was NEVER properly fixed the WHOLE time I lived there, even though i asked over & over. I had to turn into Bob Villa & fix er up myself.. with MY MONEY! The spider situation was off the freakin wall. gross. Our air conditioner didnt work, & the way they do their water, energy, heat bill is hella complicated. Never really had noise problems though. Everone kept to themselves.. no nosy neighbors.. minus the leasing bitch. OH YEAH- & every like other wednesday if youre parked in front of your own place & dont move your car by 6am (??!) you get a ticket for 50$. yeah, i probably paid the city 300$ if not more. what else..?? In a nutshell, this place is lame. My husband & I kept that place so nice.. just cause thats the way we are.. so were thinkin gettin some of the deposit back will be a breeze. WRONG. we spent 3 days preparing for the walk thru & like the other case here- am STiLL getting billed. I swear, it was in better shape when we left.. i HATE these apartments. THEY SUCK. so im going to say: "No, No, & again, No. Do NOT rent here, & spread the word."
