Apartment Review for Island Club Apartments - Oceanside, CA

I have never in my entire life been so astounded! And I agree that everyone is entitled to an opinion… so here is mine: I came onto this website to actually commend the staff and the community on what a wonderful place it is to live in and I felt compelled to read all 43 reviews after witnessing the atrocities, negativity and pathetically bias comments. Are you people serious!? Are you that bored at home with your re-runs, sitting on the couch eating cookies… that you absolutely feel the need to BITCH, MOAN and COMPLAIN!!? First of all let me state that I am a resident here and NOT an employee of Island Club. Stop being so freaking paranoid! There are people in this world that have nothing to complain about, love life, don’t feel the need to cry about every minor little aspect… and actually live harmoniously with each other. Are you all used to royalty? Because let me tell you I moved from a country with a better economy than the USA and we DO NOT get this type of quality assistance or benefits as you do here. In fact, we have to lease through a landlord.. which goes through a rental agency. So we contact the rental agency, who contacts the landlord who has to legally give you 24 hours before they can enter your home. We do not have leasing centers, we do not have someone we can deal with directly face to face and we still manage to live together in peace and solve our problems. Let me address some of the issues people have spoken about in their reviews from my experience: MAINTENANCE: Anytime I have needed something done, I have actually POPPED in and spoken to the ladies/gents in the office (which I feel is so much more personal) and within 3 hours my stuff has ALWAYS been dealt with efficiently, quickly and professionally. All these comments about Illegal’s working here? Stop being so RACIST! The ‘illegals - aka maintenance’ as you say, are polite and courteous when they enter my home and always speak to me in a respectful manner. At least they have jobs! I have seen people of my own ethnicity & culture commit far more hateful, disgusting crimes. CRIME: Speaking of crimes… CRIME ISN’T JUST AT ISLAND CLUB! Open your eyes you silly pathetic people! Crime has no color, race, background or place. It’s EVERYWHERE! We have a lot of friends in the Oceanside area living in a lot of different apartment complex’s, gated and not gated, and they are experiencing the exact same crimes.. Some even worse. I have been lucky enough to have lived ALL over the world and believe me I have seen break and enters, car robberies, theft and many more other things and you make out like Island Club is the only place it happens? And it’s not just California! It’s the WORLD! NOISE: sh*t happens! Its noise! We have a wonderful relationship and rapport with all our neighbors who know me and my husband by first and last name basis. We are always really respectful and if we have a problem whatsoever, it is not a difficult thing to discuss the matter with them as civil human beings. The office staff do not have to deal with something I can handle myself. Maybe if people actually introduced themselves to their neighbors and made an effort the leasing centre wouldn’t have to babysit and cater to your every want and need. OFFICE STAFF: how dare you suggest that the Office staff is “SOME NEW BIMBO WORKING THERE WHO LACKS BASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS” it is YOU that lacks the customer service skills and interpersonal skills to actually hold a civil and decent conversation with them in the first place. Weren’t you ever taught how to speak to people in a way you would want to be spoken to? I moved from another country and they faxed through the contract to my place of work, explained the differences in terminology (that I was not familiar with being from another country) had it waiting for me when I got off the plane, again sat down with me and showed me and my husband to our apartment . They have been nothing but friendly, helpful, fair and have always listened. I even had one of the staff members come to check in on me with muffins after I suffered a concussion and couldn’t leave the house. They have events, the community is pet friendly, they offer an incentive to have your friends move in around you and any time I have walked through that leasing centre I have been greeted, offered something to drink and spoken to in a manner than makes me want to walk in there everyday just to say hello! I have seen complaints about the staff taking deposits as you move in: It’s their JOB to make sure the apartments are covered financially incase someone decides to trash it, move out unexpectedly etc. Let’s imagine it was your own personally purchased apartment and someone had trashed it and your agent hadn’t taken any deposit regardless of whether or not they had a perfect rental history. Surely by now you know and understand that there are people in this world that aren’t as honest as we are and screw it up for the rest of us…. You wouldn’t be please would you? and if you READ your freaking CONTRACT properly it states EVERYTHING you need to know! You would UNDERSTAND that everywhere you go in the world there is a 30 Day NOTICE PERIOD! You guys are just pissed off because your own incompetence and lack of judgment has seen you get caught in a pickle that could have easily been avoided if you had taken the time to learn your obligations. You are signing a legal contract. Don’t come on here and bitch and moan because you stuffed up. I know your type. You cannot deal well with responsibility and you always point the finger! The comments about “knowing for a fact you don't get back your deposit, possibly 10% if you do and THERE IS A LIST of whom they won't renew leases for”.. How do you know that? Are you one of the drug-dealing break and enter thieves that stalk the leasing centre at night time when everyone has gone home? This is speculation! How the hell can you have proof on something like that? Were you a former employee that is jilted because you were probably fired due to your lack of customer service skills! and “They change staff as quickly as they change underwear” I am not sure where you grew up but I change my underwear daily and I have lived here well over 6 months already and I have dealt with the same staff the entire time, Wow… I would hate to see your underwear! I also read some BS comment about someone fraudulently stealing checks out of the letter boxes with duct tape on a wire hanger. What a crock of shit! Those letter boxes are enclosed in metal all the way around and are separated from all the other boxes with the only entrance being with the key that you own, or the key the post office has. Maybe it was YOUR wife who was cashing the checks in and gambling them at the casino! As for people not cleaning up after their dogs… maybe instead of sitting on the couch you should start your own business as a private detective and tattle on everyone who doesn’t clean up after their dogs! You could charge money for it! How is it the office staff’s fault? They do what they can… they have rules and regulations. They police it as much as they can. It’s the PEOPLE’S fault for not cleaning up after THEIR dog! Maybe you shouldn’t go to the beach because people sure as hell don’t clean up after their dogs down there either! MILITARY: how dare you state that the Staff of Island Club are not “Military Friendly” and “don’t cater to the military needs” if you had actually spoken to the staff you would see that 80% of them are Military Wives/Girlfriends themselves! We happen to be military, along with all 8 of our neighbors (who also haven’t had a single problem with Island Club) and we don’t appreciate you speaking on our behalf! Especially when they have done nothing but cater to our every need! Whether it be personal or military based. THINK about it.. If they were Military unfriendly.. They would not only be a disservice to 90% of the Oceanside community(who happen to be Marines!).. but also a disservice to themselves being Military families! Hardly makes any sense. There are also a few discrepancies I see in these reviews.. and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out that it is the same person who is writing the a majority of the reviews… even I will admit that I can be a little technologically challenged at times… but I am pretty sure only one person is allowed to have the email address of islandclubcomplaints@gmail.com which happens to be posted on the bottom of a majority of the reviews. Posing as a different resident every time? Hardly seems honest does it? You can destroy, disintegrate, and talk trash about your own view of Island Club as much as you want, but don’t get on here and destroy it for future residents who I can almost guarantee will have the same smooth sailing experience as I have. I guess some people just have NO IDEA how to be happy! But for those that do want happiness along with a lovely, well looked after, professional community to live in.. Myself and my husband would LOVE to have you for neighbors!
