Apartment Review for Island Club Apartments - Oceanside, CA

I lived at Island Club for 10 months. The apartment itself was one of the best I've lived in as far as the floor plan. The bedrooms were a little small for a queen size bed but I loved the layout of our living room. Not a lot of cabinet space in the kitchen but it opens into the living room which makes the space appear larger and isn't so confined. Our apartment was right next to one of the 3 or 4 pools in the community which we used all the time. The pool, hot tub and landscaping was nicely upkept. The main complaints I have about the community is the parking, securtity in the parking lot, and low-income neighbors. The community was used by some people for low-income housing paid by the government which I've never been able to understand. Generally these people were dirty, leaving trash anywhere they please including around the premisis. It upset me that my taxes were paying for people to live in such a beautiful and expensive community that I myself worked hard to be able to live in. Finding a second parking spot in the evening was next to impossible and a few times I had to park on the other side of the property (each apt is assigned only one covered parking spot, the rest are up for grabs). Also the parking security was scary. I heard of numerous break-ins to cars while I lived there including actual stolen cars. I chained up my motorcycle by our assigned covered parking spot which isn't ideal, but it was never harmed. Overall I loved the quietness of the apartment, it was always bright and chearful, being next to the pool was wonderful, and the grounds are so beautiful.
