Apartment Review for Island Club Apartments - Oceanside, CA

I moved out of Island Club Apts recently and went through the inspection with the maintainence supervisor. When he entered the apt he was eagar to find the smallest thing wrong, he said no one gets out without paying a 25.00 (sanitation fee) and acted like he was doing us a favor by only charging us 65.00 for cleaning. He brought to our attention dust on the baseboards... i have lived in apts since 1998 and have NEVER had dust on baseboards brought to my attention. The place was clean, there was a small smudge on the wall and he claimed they needed to charge me for painting (at least an hours worth) he said. I have had constant problems with the staff and their incompetancy over the yr i lived there, lost checks, etc. There is a cost of doing business, i think thats what this complex or Aimco doesnt understand. What also is strange is that the charge everyone a flat 300.00 deposit , even with perfect rental history, I believe thats so they can write themselves a check off it when you move out. I will never rent from Aimco again, and will tell anyone that asks, to stay away from Island Club Apts.
