Apartment Review for Barnard Courts Apartments - Oceanside, CA

1. The unit was put together by duct tape and elmer's glue. I had the handy man came to fix a window that wouldn't shut...it was "fixed" but he warned me it would break again if I opened it too quickly or from the back...traditional handy man he was not...a short circut in the microwave was taken care of by shutting down the power to the building and turning it on again...

2. Lots of single Marines...good if you're a single female, bad if you don't like continuous parties that last 4 days...literally a party til 4AM and then it started back up again at 10AM, pool furniture thrown in the pool, gates broken and trash everywhere...this is a recurrent problem...not one weekend goes by that they don't put the furniture in the pool.

3. We were told by security that they didn't want to come out anymore because they had been here so many times it was no longer cost effective for them to travel here. They recommended the police.

4. Electric gates are being installed and have been for nearly 6 months...no end in sight either for the project.

5. Found a squatter in an empty apartment (infront of where I park) who left the window open. He was passed out on the floor with beer cans etc all around him. (squatters have been found before and management was made aware).

6. Management has Alzheimers disease and everytime someone complains it's the "first time they've heard about it". My husband and I have complained 3 times in person, so first time it is not!

7. Cat only rule.....yeah right.....people bring their dogs to the pool.

If these things won't bother you then it's an ok place to live. The place is huge and the price hard to beat...
